Who We Are

Carol Gutzeit is the founder of Satori and owner of The Four Elements, a lifestyle center and spa in Evergreen, Colorado. She is the originator of Satori Lifestyle Coaching™ and Satori Fitness Training™. Her unique programs have been transforming people's lives since 1989, when she started Satori Hawaii, Inc. – a corporate fitness company that specialized in stress reduction and team-building programs. As a corporate trainer and motivational speaker, Carol has addressed large audiences for such companies as Pitney Bowes, Home Depot, Ampol, Data General, Verifone, McDonald's and United Parcel Service (UPS). She has also presented seminars and training programs to groups at public and private schools, universities, government agencies, resorts, spas and health clubs. Her stress reduction program, Energetics, has been featured on Hawaiian Airlines as part of the in-flight entertainment menu. As a lifestyle coach and trainer Carol has worked with a wide range of individuals over the past twenty-one years who have experienced life-changing results. Carol started out on a personal quest for physical fitness that evolved into a passion for lifestyle fitness. She coaches people on balancing their personal power and inner wisdom so they can enjoy an optimal quality of life.

Nancy Sloane is a seasoned marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience designing and producing award-winning creative advertising campaigns. An accomplished graphic designer and photojournalist she received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in mass communications / photojournalism from the University of South Florida and has won numerous awards for her work.  Prior to starting her own advertising agency in 1987, she worked as a news photographer and taught photography to American college students on exchange in the South of France.  She later joined a medium-sized advertising agency in Palm Beach where she managed a $5 million media budget.  With offices in Miami Beach and Jupiter, Florida, her company, Zoom IQ2 provides strategic planning and creative services including all aspects of branding and communications for today’s digital age.  Ms. Sloane recently joined the Satori community in order to bring a creative dimension to the retreat program. Her belief that we are all creative beings is the cornerstone of her workshops. In order to get people in touch with their unique voices, she has developed a program that welcomes all forms of self-expression.  “We are so filled with judgments in our daily lives,” she says.  “I often hear people say ‘I have no talent’ because they think things need to look a certain way. My goal is to get people to go beyond their concern for a particular end result and enjoy the freedom of expression. Letting go of the concept of good art can pave the way to great joy.”

By doing away with judgments, we find ways to integrate the creative process into all aspects of our lives, and open the door to new ideas and ways of being.  The workshops utilize a variety of mediums including collage, writing, and photography.  It is recommended that you bring some kind of digital camera, whether it is an Iphone or other instamatic, with a memory card or other plug-in that allows images to be uploaded to a computer.
