Suffering is related to loss, trauma, injury and pain. The way you respond to an event in your life determines the emotional impact it will have. You can transform suffering by keeping your heart open and allowing your inner healer to mend the broken pieces.
"The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths." ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Consider the vastness of the universe for a broader perspective of existence. Even though you can't control what happens in the outer world you can take charge of your own experiences. Transform suffering by having a positive perception of reality.
Although you may suffer on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level, it’s your mind that makes things feel better or worse. Limiting beliefs about yourself will make things worse, empowering beliefs make everything better. When you consciously choose uplifting thoughts and beliefs, your mind becomes extremely useful.
Physical suffering comes in many forms. Coping with an illness, injury or disease can seem overwhelming, especially if your mind is working against you. Learn something from your body by finding out what it needs to heal and you'll alleviate your suffering.
Your mind is either working for you or against you. It tends to hold on to negative events from your past and bring them up in the present for you to relive. This kind of suffering can be transformed by forgiving and letting go to make room for new events.
If you blame others for unwanted experiences, you increase your suffering by giving away your power. It means you’re relying on someone else to make you feel better, and that may never happen. By taking full responsibility for your own suffering you have the power to transform it.
Spiritual suffering is caused by disconnection. Transformation at this level occurs when you reconnect with your soul and have soul to soul connections. This is how we transform human suffering and return to our natural state of loving awareness.
Cleaning up your inner environment will reduce suffering. If you’re not okay on the inside, nothing on the outside will change how you feel. Start by observing your own thoughts so that you can dismiss the ones that are not serving you and replace them with ones that support your well-being.
