Stress is like a thief that sneaks up on you, and robs you of your health, happiness and peace of mind. The good news is, you can stop this thief in its tracks by changing your response to it. Look for the lesson in every challenge and grow from the experience rather than suffer through it.
Stress is useful when it triggers the fight-or-flight response to deal with real danger. The release of cortisol helps your body deal with a life-threatening situation; however, if the stress is chronic, cortisol is no longer beneficial and becomes stored in the body rather than used for survival.
